A past President of the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) and past Vice President of the State Board of Directors for the New York State Society for Clinical Social Work, Dr. Bergmann is also a lecturer and EMDRIA-approved consultant on EMDR, the neurobiology of EMDR, and the integration of EMDR with psychodynamic and ego-state treatment.
In addition to the books Neurobiological Foundations for EMDR Practice (1st and 2nd editions), Dr. Bergmann has authored articles in multiplied peer-reviewed journals – including Traumatology, Medical Hypotheses, and the Journal of EMDR Practice and Research – and contributed chapters to various anthology works on EMDR. He is a member of the editorial boards of Traumatology and Journal of EMDR Practice and Research and an EMDR Institute Senior Facilitator and Specialty Presenter.
